#DONTBEBASIC – THE MAGIC OF MARK COLLE

I follow Dazed Digital (part of Dazed & Confused Magazine) on facebook and lets be honest, they deliver beautiful images on the regular. Most moments I need some sort of unique inspiration I turn to their website most times, today Holy Flowers By Pierre Debusschere and Robbie Spencer fell in line on my news feed. I fell in love. Instantly flowed into a dream state and felt like I was Mena Survari covered in falling rose petals in Kevin Spacey’s daydream in American Beauty. Fortunate enough for me there was a video (at the bottom of this article) accompanied with beautiful image. The video is haunting with a remix of Mazzy Star’s Fade Into You pulsing through.

As stated in the Dazed Digital article on the piece, the inspiration for the wonderous images was from the Jil Sander Fall ‘12 which was Raf Simon’s final show. Raf got Mark Colle to do floral installations for the show resulting in the beautiful images below.

Mark Colle is the ultimate Belgian master of flowers, as exceeds expectations each time when it comes to their presentation. Raf Simons Creative Director for Dior debuted with a collaboration with Mark Colle who pampered the walls of the Dior Haute Couture Autumn-Winter ’12 show in Paris with an assortment of flowers. From Orchids to Peonies, the design was breathtaking.
